What is the Child and Adult Care Food Program?

 

The CACFP is a USDA funded program that reimburses child care providers

for feeding nutritious meals to the children in their care.

Providers that are registered, licensed, or a group day care home with

a current permit and operate in a residential setting are eligible to participate.

 

 

Who is Child Nutrition Services?

 

Child Nutrition Services is a non-profit corporation committed to quality child care.

Our entire focus is the child care food program and offering support to the

child care provider. Child Nutrition Services is based in Washington, Kansas,

and works exclusively in 6 counties of North Central Kansas:

Smith, Jewell, Republic, Washington, Marshall and Nemaha

 

 

What does Child Nutrition Services provide to me?

  • A monthly reimbursement check for the child care meals you provide.
  • Simple, easy to use paper forms or the option to use computer forms. (Must have Microsoft Excel program to use computer forms.)
  • Personal Service! We keep all records by name; you are not a number with us!
  • Your claim is reviewed by trained staff-no computer scanners.
  • A toll-free number for providers who live outside of the Washington, Kansas area.
  • Free informative and fun workshops provided twice a year in your area.
  • Free Menu Planner with CACFP approved meals.
  • Free annual record keeping calendar.
  • Free subscription to a monthly nutrition magazine and cooking magazine
  • A registered dietitian is available for consultation on special dietary needs.

 

How do I enroll with

Child Nutrition Services?

1.  Call CNS at 785-325-2642 or 866-214-4073 to schedule a visit.

2.  An orientation visit is scheduled in your home at your convenience.  The friendly staff a CNS will explain the CACFP to you.

3.  Each month you will submit your attendance and menu information to the CNS office.

4.  You will receive a reimbursement check for the meals you have claimed.
