KSDS Kansas Specialty Dog Service Washington Kansas
- 5-4-2010
KSDS, Inc, of Washington, Kansas, received word last September from the
Kansas Department of Commerce they are recipients of tax credits in the
amount of $ 250,000.00. These tax credits will be used for their capital
project of the construction of a sixplex handicap accessible housing unit
with an estimated cost of $ 600,000.00. These tax credits are offered at
the rate of 70% to the donor. As part of the FY 2010 budget for tax years
2009 and 2010, tax credits will be eligible for 90% of their value when
claimed. Contributions must be a minimum of $250. The credit is toward
the Kansas State tax liability only. Donors may also be eligible for a
federal charitable contribution deduction. You may visit with your
accountant to determine your benefits on your federal return.
The advantage of tax credits is that they follow a refundable carryover
provision. If the tax credit is greater than tax credit liability, the
tax filer receives a refund. Eligible contributors are businesses or
individuals paying and subject to Kansas state income tax. These tax
credits are available till the end of the year, December 31, 2010.
