Freeze - Dry Floral Preservation

|
I'm Delma Stamm, and I specialize in vacuum freeze-dry floral preservation. This is a fairly new process, pioneered in the 1980's. It's still not widely available, due to the expense and maintenance of the equipment. I began with this method of flower preservation in 2005, and launched my business late that year in a historical downtown building in Washington, Kansas. For several years I marketed gifts, vintage and handmade items from local artisans, along with offering custom floral keepsakes. The keepsake business involves mostly wedding bouquets and memorial flowers.
In January, 2010, I rearranged my priorities, moving the keepsake business to my home which is about 10 miles northeast of Washington. My custom design clients now come first, and I'm free from the distractions of running a brick and mortar shop, although I do miss my friends dropping by!
I've lived in the Washington County Area most of my life, besides floral preservation and designing, my passions are raising Icelandic sheep and decorating my home with a vintage twist. The sheep are most generous in producing a large quantity of fine-textured wool for yarn, felt, and roving. I've marketed wool and yarns since 1999.
On a more personal note, I'm a wife, mom, grammy, sister and friend. I've been blessed with many opportunities and am thankful to all who have crossed my path with kindness and encouragement.
If your're planning a wedding or just got married yesterday and would like your bouquet preserved into a keepsake, please call. The care of the flowers is important to ensure the quality of the finished keepsake, for there are many steps to the preservation process. I offer pick-up (when pre-arranged) of the bridal bouquet at the church of reception immediately following the event, in the following areas: Barnes, Greenleaf, Hanover, Linn, Morrowville, Palmer and Washington. A preservation fee deposit is placed at this time, but no design decisions are required.
For anyone who didn't have the opportunity to have their original bouquet preserved, I'm happy to re-create the bouquet from a wedding photo.
Memorial flowers should be gently cared for after the service and transported to me as soon as possible. Please call in advance for directions and to arrange a time.
